I may run another Midnight game, this one for 1st-level characters. (The adventure may or may not be the playtest version for a new adventure in Midnight 2nd Edition ;) ).

I'd like to gauge interest in such a game before I commit to it, though. :)

I've heard Midnight is awesome, so I'd be interested in playing.

For People in my campaign:
Plan A (6 people will sign up) did not pan out.
Neither did Plan B (my brother comes down and fills out the numbers).

So we are now onto Plan C. To wit: <s>The Big Book of Alternate Rules</s> <i>Unearthed Arcana</i> has a thing begining on page 72 called "Gestalt Characters. If you don't have the book, it's really simple. You have one character, who has two classes. In character creation, you get all the class features, spells, and whatever of both classes. For things like hit dice, BAB, and saves, look at both classes, and take whichever number is higher. I rule that a Paladin/Fighter and a Paladin/Cleric are both allowed, but not Paladin/anything-other-then-fighter-or-cleric. Monk/fighters and monk/anything-that-requires-one-to-be-chaotic are also not allowed. (I mean seriously a monk with all the extra feats from the fighter... that's a whole party right there.) If you have any other questions yell real loud.

Note: if we get more than one more person (currently there are three, so no more then four) we're going back to normal characters.

As a note compleatly unrelated to the above instructions, other then the fact that I have the book out and it looks like fun...
There's also a blurb about desert races that I'm going to run with. Everyone, add the racial trait "Heat Endurence" to your characters. [It's a +4racial bonus to Fort against hot weather.] Knowing me, I will forget to take the weather into account, and this will be nothing but an atmospheric device.
If you are any race other than human, there's other stuff. Yell if you need the information for a race, I'm not going to write it all out if I don't have to.

More good news/bad news:

Was planning to crash with a really good, really long time friend in Dallas. Had set it up with him to help him with some house stuff saturday and game sunday. He still wants me to come so is covering the 1/2 of the gas I can't cover. If I can get the time off work. But, he also wants me to go to Faire with him on Sunday. So, the updated plan is: if I can get out of work for the weekend, I will be there for the morning game (the SF game, which I am play-testing anyway and really want to be there for), then going to faire, then maybe coming back to Dallas U for the night festivities. If I cant get the weekend off, well then I can't make it at all. I will know, for sure, one way or the other, tomorrow (friday). I will post as soon as I can. If my spot in SF gets taken cause I am having to be wishy-wAshy, so be it, I'll come watch and meet the undeads, or go find a Texas girl or something instead. Sorry abotu all this. More info as soon as I am sure!

Errr, umm, alrighty, in that case I'll go with a cleric/barbarian if it comes to gestalt characters, otherwise stick to a cleric

Beth, it sounds like we have 4 players now ith John--what about a plan E? What if we whip up a couple of extra characters (depends on what John is playing, but whatever is left from fighter, wizard, or druid). Either walk up players can take these characters as sort of pre-gens, or some of us can play them as cohorts?
