Damage Reduction Question

Greetings,

I have a question regarding Damage reduction for 3.0 and 3.5.

If you are fighting something that has DR of 10/+2 and are using a Longbow +2 firing +1 arrows, does the damage reduction negate the full damage?

When using magic ranged weapons, apply the highest enhancement bonus, whether its from the ammunition, or the thing launching them. In this case, the arrows would be considered +2 arrows for all intents and purposes, and would negate damage reduction.

Because it is a 3.0 game only the enhancement bonus of the ammunition counts for overcoming DR.
So in this example 10 points of the damage done would be negated.

In 3.0, +2 longbow stacks with +1 arrows, for a total of +3, beating +2, so this would override DR.

In 3.5, the DR would be 10/magic. The enhancement would be the greater of the two, or +2. But even if it was only +1, it would still override the DR, since it's magic.

Ah, didn't know the bit about only ammunition counting to beat DR in 3.0. So DR would apply in 3.0.
