Does the Deathward spell prevent abilty score loss from undead in combat?

Deathward prevents negative energy effects but I am unsure if the ability score drain is consided a negative energy effect from undead, It seeems like it SHOULD be ... but is it?

If not Is there a spell that prevents such stat drains? Or is there only restorations after the fact?

Thanks

Nothing definitive, but it's an entirely reasonable conclusion that undead draining attacks are powered by negative energy.

All of an undead's actions are powered by negative energy, so Death Ward should protect me from all attacks by undead. Yay! :)

Seriously: It looks like the attacks that are negative energy effects are labelled as such. E.g.:

The touch of a shadow deals 1d6 points of Strength damage to a living foe. A creature reduced to Strength 0 by a shadow dies. This is a negative energy effect.
But other creatures' attacks (e.g. wraith's CON drain) don't have that note ("This is a negative energy effect") and Death Ward says it doesn't protect against other types of attacks, so no protection there.
