Cause it's what you type. ;) (by url) I also think it sounds about a hundred times better also… (IMHO)

And jdvn1 did you get my email?
Heh. But the title bar says EN World. And so does the title page. nba.com isn't pronounced like a word, and it's clear whitehouse.gov is pronounced like two words.

And, yes I did. I replied too, but maybe you haven't seen it yet. Thanks a lot!

And just to sow confusion...

E.N. Publishing doesn't stadn for the Illustrous Eric Noah...

But to date, no one has successfully guessed what it does stand for.

One guess per person only, please. Anyone successfully guessing what it does stand for will receive a significant quantity of free product from E.N. Publishing, including some of our older print releases through MEG, not as a prize, but as a bribe to keep quiet about it in order to keep it a mystery.
Wow, I didn't know that. Hm, this will take consideration.

Lets keep this to acronyms (AKA everyone going to whitehouse.gov knows what and where they are going… With some of them getting there after a slight detour to the .com sight. )

And preconceived notions only… Would you agree with me that 90% to 95% of the visitors to NBA.com know that NBA stands for the National Basketball Association, that NFL.com stands for the National Football League, MLB.com stands for Major League Baseball? (At least now, cause until a few years ago it use to be a lawyer firm.)

If so that’s because its already known… There are no dots in the title, no spaces, just EN, though I do believe the old pictures on the site use to say E.N. Hopefully someone can confirm this.

Anyhow long post short not everyone on this board knows of Eric Noah. I’m pretty sure I had a 1000 posts before I knew it was truly “E N world” and I think this will be growing more and more in the future. Its to wordy to say “E N world” “E N nies” or “E N Worlders” and bastardization of words is common in spoken languages.

Found! I thought it was spam so I deleted it. :heh: (Subject lines like that do not usually get opened up in this day in age. :) )

Well, I never called EN World correctly due to a preconceived notion, and I doubt the only reason I pronounce the NBA in NBA.com as an acronym is due to preconceived notions. Personally, if I think the letters don't spell a word, I probably won't pronounce it as such. enworld.org includes "world" which is a word and "en" which doesn't seem to make sense as a word, nor as a part of a larger word, IMO. I do admit to being atypical, though.

Well, the title does capitalized both the E and the N and has a space before "World." The "orld" is technically capitalized on the front page, but as small caps.

Maybe a brief history of EN World should be included in the FAQ? I'm not in so much of a hurry that I can't spare the extra syllable to pronounce "E N" rather than "en," though. ;)

I wouldn't be surprised if people delete my emails regardless. ;) In the future maybe I should use an [EN World] tag?

If you email through the board it does it for you... I always do on the first email, someone like RA, who's gotten a few thousand from me, or someone like PC, who’s only gotten a hand few, I don’t…

I pretty much expect the display name to catch their eye… My surname is hardly common and most people stop and pause at it.

Maybe my parents hate me… My middle name, mom’s maiden, is often butchered as “Bard” and my last name is never pronounced right. (Its pronounced like “went” as in I went to the store.)

Anyhow... way off topic. :o

And all this time I just assumed it stood for:

Exclusively Nerdy World, or
Everything's Nonsense World, or
Everyone's Naughty (pics) World, or
Enough Nanotech World
