DarkºMatter from d20 Modern

Well, granted I have not gotten into Alternity/Dark*Matter but I'm sure one can make due with the existing FX in d20 Modern.
No offense, but that's a little like asking me to make due with the D&D magic system for an Ars Magica game. The feel of the systems is just completely imcompatible.

Well, then I suggest you ask JD Wiker (author of many Dark*Matter products) on his messageboard for new rules on using D*M with d20 Modern.
He has a message board? I might just do that -- do you have a link?

I agree -- you may want to check out the occult/psi system in Spycraft, powered down just a notch.

I've heard good things about the Spycraft psychic stuff. Is that all in the Shadowforce Archer book? Do I need the Spycraft main book to use it, or is it pluggable into any d20 game?

Im currently running some players through a heavily modified version of The Killing Jar adventure from Dark*Matter. Im using D20 Modern with a VP/WP system but Im not allowing the characters any magic, Im trying to keep the power level low and not have any in your face monster attacks. I would be lying if I didnt say most of the inspiration is from X-Files and my love of urban legends. So far it's going pretty good.

Did Xenoforms ever get made into an ESD? It's nice that he provided a conversion method and all, but it doesn't do me much good if I don't have the book and can't get it easily.

Along the same lines, is anyone else disappointed that they shrunk the Fraal?

Oh, well. I've yet to see a d20 Modern compatible product that offers an alternative magic and psionic system, but as one poster have said, Shadowforce Archer (Spycraft setting sourcebook) is your safe bet. Also look for Hands of Glory (for SFA).

Ken Hoods "skillsnfeats" psychic powers was. d20 Call of Cthulhu's psychic powers can be grafted onto d20 Modern with almost no work at all (you just have to have the players read a coupla chapters out of that book.)

Cool! Thanks!

FWIW chaosium is going to be re-releasing Delta Green in the near future. It will include D20 stats/rules to go along with the BRP rules (now, granted Chaosiums D20 data is usually nominal at best, but it's better than nothing).

If you're not familiar with Delta Green, it's basically the equivalent of Dark Matter for the CoC Universe ie integrating contemporary conspiracies with the mythos.

It (along with Dark Matter) is one of my favorite settings just to read through for the fluff.
