I keep hearing interesting things about Blue Rose... this thread is yet another thing on the list. I really wish I could find a copy to check out, but I haven't yet. Might just hafta order it from my FLGS.

a alternate rules of d20 that Green Ronin has constructed,. It is sort of rules lite and geared towards Romantic Fantasy

D&D isn't really like Blue Rose, thus the need to write something like Blue Rose.....

Except that defilers were able to gain levels faster then perservers, that was a big mechanical thing

And with BR, you could emulate that by having the character give in to their Corruption. People who give in add their Corruption score to their tests for casting Arcana, if I remember correctly. They effectively have a higher "level" for casting their spells, by choosing to embrace destructive magic.
