Dark Sun, Druids, and the Vow of Poverty

This is mixing supplements, a bad idea IMO since they're not playtested with each other. I did a little bit of www.athas.org playtesting, and I'm 99.9% sure that they weren't playtested with BoED material. (For starters, the BoED is quite new.)

The answer, IMO, is not to try for it. On a related note, for RP penalties you should gain RP benefits.

Was the BoED even playtested?

Some of the stuff is very, very overpowered (as in, perhaps the title should have been, "The Quintissential Guide to Exalted Deeds"), although that may have been deliberate to ensure that players bought the book.

In dark sun you will gain some treasure now and then. You could come up with a modified version that you will donate/sacrfice treasure to some cause and in return gain some benefit. In this case it could fit into the setting if you are sacrificing to those old halflings and gaining some psionic power somehow ;)

Gain your normal share of treasure, donate/sacrifice appropriately and at the end I would suggest that the dm grants you abilities as he sees fit. Roughly at whatever level he wants your party to be at powerwise. It wont be the same obviously, but it will be close enough to be workable.

Always nice to have extra roleplaying opportunities too!
