Adding that to his background.

Character History:
Andus grew up in slave pits. He never knew anything about his parents or even his past. Because of his size and power he was a natural for the gladiatorial games. He became quite the favorite. His brutal, merciless style earned him his title. He never showed mercy to his opponents. He always seemed to want to cause the most pain to them before delivering the killing blow. Because of his popularity, the half-giant got to do quite a bit of traveling. Andus soon lost count of how many masters he had had.

It was on one of these trips that Andus’ life would forever change. In an interesting turn of events, while traveling to another city, his caravan was attacked by marauders. Andus quickly learned that his life in the slave pits had ended and now he would need to cling to a different way of life. Lately, Andus has been the bodyguard of a preserver known as ‘Socrates the Silver’. Many times Andus has proven his worth by protecting the preserver. But just as many times has Andus been saved from harm by Socrates’ preserver magic.

The Preserver and the Brute. Looks good.

Do you have a preference of how you are a part of the Kalidnay "transplant" to Ravenloft?

Also, have either of you read a bit of the current storyline? If not, that is fine. We can role play it out.

In a very quick and short version- Six persons were contacted by a templar to "work" for him and the city. They were to solve a series of murders that were occuring within the city. These murders were gruesome and included tearing the bodies apart and consuming bits. Everyone whom tried to solve the murders has ended up dead or missing.

The only clues they have are a memory crystal (think of it as a visual / audial recording) made by one investigator. A few witnesses that have gone insane or are ghostly spirits that were too powerful to convince giving up information. Oh, and about forty pieces of body that were from possibly as many as three people.

The High Templar of the Arena and Justice (now THE king in Ravenloft) is Tenk and he knows more than he is saying and hiding this for some reason.

Two NPCs of note are Krook and Veena. Krook is a city worker of the sewers. Unknown to the Templars, he is an Alliance member (think Veiled Alliance) and a druid. His strong connections to the earth and sewers that have now been transported to Ravenloft is having a bad effect on him. Veena is a powerful Psion Seer of the future. Some members of the party learned it was she that chose the six of them to solve this murder. She has pleaded and requested the party to return to her very soon. She had a serious problem before when on Athas. She was involved in a battle with a powerful defiler. The defiler died but not before curseing her. Now she "lives and relives" her visions. These are so intense that sometimes she "pulls in" people's minds that are too close to her. They experience the dream-visions just as she does. She forsaw Kalidnay "becoming lost" which has just become true as now it is in the dreadplane of Ravenloft. Being already cursed, we will need to see how she fares in a world where curses are very serious and powerful.

The city and undetermined area surrounding it has gone to Ravenloft. The three surviving party members remember the Athas version but see and experience Kalidnay as the reshaped Ravenloft version. Why is unclear. Perhaps a cruel trick or curse by the Darklords.

Right now they are regrouping and have found the second memory crystal which is located in a garden of possibly deadly Purple Roses.

Thats about it. Socrates and Andus can appear at any point you want in the current adventure. Unlike the others, the Darklords have "reprogrammed" your memory to the understanding that King Tenk rules Kalidnay (Not Kalid-Ma) and there was no "Athas", only Ravenloft.

Enjoy.

(PS- Next week I'll checkout the characters thourghly and tweak if required.)

With Socrates' knowledge of engineering anf fortifications he could have been brought in to town to see if there was a "chink in the city's armor" Some where that a group of wild animals or Halflings had gotten in and out of the city and then plug the hole.

He and Andus could have been sent to aid the group when the change happened but they were not close enough to the party to be in the circle of effect that keeps the party remembering Athas.

That work for you Tailspinner?

Hi,

it is a long time since I didnèt play a game of Darksun... ok, the character seems to have travel a bit far from there, but I think they are suppose to go back... anyway, I'm a bit nostalgic of that and I'm wondering if your still accepting a player in the game?

You could be there to look into a city project but keep in mind- As with Ravenloft standards- Kalidnay has always been the way it is to you. When the others, Jayde, Odten and Tallask speak of another version, they are crazy. This is the only version you know of.

I think they're crazy already. no streach of the mind there.

He's just about ready to post Just to let you know his spell book is designed around Athas not Ravenloft so some of his spells will not seem usable to him. That could be a hook for him to come around to thinking that there is something to what they say about the world not being right. but that will all happen in game.
