Darts, Shuriken, and Ammunition

Don't need an infinite supply of daggers. Just need twice as many Returning daggers as you can throw in a single round. ^_^

Of course, it is just cool imagery to climb up a mountain quickly (hey, its d&d after all!).. pull out dagger, stab into cliff face, pull out dagger stab, climb up two steps.. repeat.. lol.. no one could follow you! at least not easily ;)

Yeah I know, not realistic, but so much fun!

Bah. Max out Climb ranks, get Skill Mastery for Climb, and milk every bonus source possible. ^_^ Take a runnign start, hit hte side of hte mountain ...a nd don't stop until you reach the top (and need to catch your breath while puking on Zeus' sandals due to the exertion ...).

Well... there's always the problem of picking them all up again when all but two of them land on the ground at the start of the next round...

Hyp, who says "all but two of them land on teh ground" ... ? That would be, IMO, an overly-restrictive interpretation of the Returning ability. After all, just because you've caught two of them, doesn't prevent you from catching the other two. Otherwise, how do you explain (for example) jugglers, who can catch all their props/throwing-toys/whatever at the end of their act, in the space of ... say ... under six seconds?

Catch with right hand (free action), transfer to left hand (free action); lather; rinse; repeat.

Except they all return just before your turn. If the first thing you do isn't "catch", the daggers are on the ground.

I'd be happy for someone to catch one per hand, but not to do any transferring.

You draw them as a free action, like ammunition.

You know you can put special abilities on arrows and shuriken, right?

There's nothing wrong with making 50 +1 Flaming shuriken for 8000gp.

Yes, but in my specific case, he's 6th level, and doesn't want to blow such a large portion of his mulah on such a finite item (50 uses)

Hyp, a question: if someone had the ability to THROW two per hand (at the same time, with the same attack roll) ... qould you allow them to CATCH two in the same hand? ^_^

Like 3E Shuriken? Yeah, probably :)

Then, go check out CW's entry for the Master Thrower. ^_^

One of their class ability options is the Thrown Trick "Palm Throw" -- chuck two small throwing weapons (i.e. shuriken, daggers, or darts) with a single attack roll, from a single hand. You just don't get any STR bonus to damage. ^_^

So, that and Double Toss (another Thrown Trick from the Master Thrower class, which permits a single attack from each hand, with throwing weapons, as a standard action) ... and that's 4 returnign daggers out. Per turn. ^_^
