Darwin's World vs D20 Apocalypse?

If you had DW2 and d20 Modern, what would you need d20 Apoc for? DW2 is a complete setting/campaign. D20 Apoc helps you build a setting... Assuming you like the D2 setting, then you are done.

I don't recall there being any Zombies in Redline, but it wouldn't be too hard to work them in.
I made mention of them further up the thread. Redline has "Rad Zombies". Redline actually includes four monsters.

The mutie (aka "Creep Zombie" by normal folks) which is a humanoid that has acquired so many mutations they are barely recognizable as human... they are not undead though.

The rad vamp, a template that makes the recipient undead, and gains domination, Str drain from slam, Con drain from bite that also transfer some Creep, rad zombie spawning, children of the night, DR 5/– archaic, DR 15/– gunfire, spider climb, fast healing 5. When it dies it turns into a gray ooze.

The rad zombie, the "Night of the Living Dead, Resident Evil, 28 days" zombie.

The sand shark. Have you seen Tremors?

Plus a listing of Monster Manual appropriate creatures.

Cool.
I haven't looked at my copy in awhile. :)
I do think that Redline is a bargain buy for what it offers.

I also forgot to mention Masters of the Earth (a free d20 PA game):

http://www.geocities.com/paforge/mote.html

I know the author and he does put a lot of time into adding to MOTE.

Otherwise I am sticking with Redline.

OT- Hey Bill! Nice to see that you are around again. You might want to check out my new thread on mutant plants (non-pc) on alternityrpg.net.

d20 Apocalypse has a very good barter system, as well as an easily portable Mutation system that (unlike DW2's list) features Mutations rated by MP. Much easier to balance point-rated powers than it is to let your players choose from a list that, basically, considers all mutations equal as long as you take only three.

I'm trying to stay out of this being an author of DW2, but this is untrue unless you are referring to the first edition, which was based on d20 fantasy, but that also used point values, but I would admit to anyone it had some significant flaws (it was our very first product and it showed). But maybe I'm misunderstanding your statement. If so, forgive me. :)

The DW2 mutation system has a varying level system, which allows mutations/defects to be more (or less) extreme depending on how many feats you spend to advance them.

We also put it into a template so it can be applied to other creatures.

I like the barter system in d20 apoc. I hope it becomes OGL so I can maybe use it in the reprint of the DW2 HC. Haven't tried it in a game yet.

I would also vote for getting both. ;) But I buy everything PA. But sadly the DW2 HC is sold out!

Oh.. I like redline too! It really packed alot into 64 pages.

Hey Chris,
Love your work!!
Spent most of today working up NPC's for my upcoming PA Campaign. DW2 Rocks!
Since you are also a fan of Redline, any thoughts of working up some unofficial conversion notes to DW2??
Sincere Regards,
Brutorz Bill
