I missed the beginning but caught the end of the 2nd time-loop and the beginning of the 3rd (when he takes his GF on the roadtrip). I thought it was neat how he picked up on things that happened "yesterday(s)" and was able to use that knowledge "today". Conversely whatever happens "today" (e.g. getting shot) will still affect him "tomorrow".
So, uh, what if he dies?
The show claims that all secrets will be revealed in 11 weeks (or however long it's on), but I don't believe them. I think it will end up being like X-Files where there's just infinite recursion of secrets, until you don't give a crap anymore and you stop watching it.

I have hopes that the show will end intelligently and well. I don't want to spoil anything, but I went to the Wikipedia article and saw the list of the episode titles. They suggest a progression toward an ultimate revelation.

I had it on but didn't care for it. I think that it was just too much of the same thing (no pun intended) for two-hours of that intensity. Even when they show the two-hour blocks of "24" they mix it up with cuts of different people at different places.

I've gotta say, RangerWickett's description actually made the episode sound a lot better than it was, IMO. 
I was watching it, but couldn't get into it too much, so it just became background noise as I worked on some things. I think (and reading his summary tends to agree with me) that there were some good ideas there, and that it could have been more interesting, but it just felt way too padded for what it was. Too stretched out, and too many scenes were just dry and boring throwaways. A lot of cliched dialogue (particularly the scene between Taye Diggs and his girlfriend, where he tries to explain what is happening to him).
I really don't know how they could make this a recurring series beyond its slated run, given the nature of it (the events of this episode set into motion the reliving day effect, so what happens when that is resolved?) Unless they decide to give this guy the power to jump around all the time (he does mention he wasn't reinjected on the second night, when he fell asleep in the car), but I don't know.
Of course, I didn't see how the plot of Prison Break could go on beyond the actual prison break, and I am enjoying (for the most part) the heck out of that show.
Was he meeting with him, or was the thug just there? It looked like the thug was the bartender, and it wasn't entirely clear to me whether Adam Baldwin's character knew him or not. I suspect the thug knows his character at least, but I'm not entirely convinced Baldwin's character was in on the thing.

I'm curious as to how they will run this same day for 13 or so episodes. Moreso, how they make this series last beyond one year without introducing us to a new guy.

Watched the first two episodes, and liked it so far. I don't see how they could create a second season with it and the same character, but that doesn't really matter, as long as the first season is successfully resolved.
By the way, speaking of time loop stories - anyone remember the (TV) movie 12:01? I really liked that one, but unfortunately, it is almost never shown and hard to get...

First two episodes? But the second one isn't on until this Wednesday. Unless you consider the first one a two parter that is. Are they ahead of our viewing schedule in Germany?

Yeah, he means the first one is a two-parter, effectively two episodes.
I really liked it, the tension of 24 with a very fun twist.
I sincerely hope the plan is to just have this one short season. More shows should be like that, one good story over 6-12 episodes, that's it. I'd be more likely to watch them if I knew my time commitment going in.
