Lorenzo Reynolds HPs: 2/2

As they continued on their way, Lorenzo thought, I hope Core isn't too freaked by me vanishing on him again... I really hope the Coach is okay...
Lorenzo wasn't certain for a moment if the thought was his own . . . or someone else's. He freaked a bit, and casually waved his hand through the spot where someone would be sitting in the passenger's seat of his car.

"Corey, everything okay back there, bud?" Lorenzo asked. "We got a little ways to go before the stop that coach mentioned."

Lorenzo kept watch to make certain that Jenn was still behind him on the road.

"Yeah, I'm okay." Corey replied. "It's just... I dunno, it just seems like everything is only getting worse. Can't we just like, hide out somewhere?"

"Hopefully, that's where we're headed," Lorenzo replied. "I've got the next stop that Coach wanted us to take, then we'll see from there."

"Didn't Coach say he was taking us out of the country? That sounds really.. dangerous." Corey turns his head and peers out the rear window again, still telling himself that he'll see Sammy and Coach Shelton flying and running up behind them and minute.

Kyle Graham, hp 2/2

Kyle keeps quiet most of the trip, not looking up from his thoughts and works. He quietly wonders who the detector spotted before they got out of range. He wasn't sure if he felt bad that hoping that Coach was okay, he didn't want friends in the hands of the authorities.

OOC: He's trying to figure out a: how the detector worked, and b: if there was a way to use the one he had to generate a 'dead zone'.

"I doubt it, bud," Lorenzo replied calmly. "I'm certain that Coach has some fantastic plan to get us out without a hitch."

Corey sounds reassured by Lorenzo's quiet confidence. "Yeah, you're probably right. Coach would have it all planned out." Not having much else to say, he returns to staring out the rear window.

Andrew stay silent. His thought are away. He was thinking how poeple react so extremely just because they are mutant. The men that have tried to gun them without even talking or anything. And the government who has just put them into cells. They hadn't done anything against the law. Criminals had better justice. Dead is awaiting the dangerous, labor camp the harmless. A man who dare touch children will have a fair trials, but someone who have just hit puberty too much will be killed, even if he is a saint... Strangers, government, Catherine... What about his family, would they have done the same thing? The prodigy of the family, a guy shining in sport events now hiding like a scum, how they are reacting now? Andrew tells himself that he was still there child, but now he had a doubt, but it was too late to know now...

And himself, how he would have reacted if one of his teammate would have been a mutant... he wonders now. He has been protected from them by the government, he had always thought mutation was happening elsewhere, but never in his city, never close to him. He has seen them as some natural abberation... after all, mutation was some strange natural event. But is that make mutants less human, less than animals... Andrew thought he would have tolerate them, mainly because of Coach's influence. He always siad to be tolerant to others, whatever there religion or race...

He feeled tired. Things was happening so fast. It's just looked like his last game was months ago... but his last game was last week only. The next one will come tommorow... or it is the day after? He wasn't sure, anyway, it doesn't matter anymore.

Both vehicles continued along for several hours with nothing of interest happening. Finally, they stopped to allow their bladders a chance to rest. They pulled into a roadside rest stop that had half a dozen cars parked there. They parked away from those cars and walked to the bathrooms in pairs, taking turns to minimize any problems. They all felt proud that they were doing things the way that the Coach had taught them.

This also gave them a chance to talk as a group and pass some food around. Kyle reported that he now had a mutant scanner and had figured out how the crazy thing worked. He also had a scanner detector that he was not so sure on how it worked. His next plan was to see if he could somehow use the two to set up a shield against being detected.

Lorenzo no longer felt the odd thoughts about Coach Shelton and Corey. They seemed to fade as they drove.

Jenn and the others had listened to the news for awhile but got bored with cattle reports and other nonsense so they gave up on the mystery of the smoke column by the lake.

Andrew walks up to Lorenzo while they are waiting for the others. He is eatings some peanuts ha has bought at the gaz station. "You want some?", handing the bags of peanuts to Lorenzo. "You are ok? You think you can keep driving?"
