DC/VA/MD ENW Gameday [Cleveland Park, October 27 @ 9:30]

That could work... I'm not a resident of Montgomery County, but I know plenty of people that are.

I've also found that the Arlington Library offers a large conference space for rental, as well as every Arlington Fire Department (which I found strange... but interesting). I'm not sure on their fees, but they all have posted hours that wouldn't work, but after a little digging, I found that you can apply to have your event go after the posted hours for a little extra cash...

I'm willing to kick in a ticket fee if we rent a room.

I'm willing to do more...if it's in the Baltimore area. I know it's certainly not central, but it's accessable for me and given the amount of time I can dedicate, it's limited to just the region around my place.

We're really going for centrality and ease of attendance. However, if you know of a good location in Baltimore that is reasonably priced, I'd consider having it up North. :)

There are several locations around Ft Meade, except they aren't very communter friendly. I will keep my eyes peeled for other locations, though. Carrying an over full load right now or I would be more involved. :)

Hello fellow MD/VA/DC gamers. I've been lurking here for about six months and just started posting recently.

I'd be happy to chip in with some cash to help with securing a location, some warm bodies to fill up seats at the gaming tables (my wife and our sister/roommate, and probably some members of our local group as well), my own DMing skills, and of course home-baked goodies to munch - I love to make cookies. I am an RPGA Herald DM (or, I will be as soon as they process my test results!) and I am active in the new Xen'drik Expeditions campaign; also looking to get into Living Greyhawk with my wife and others. My game of choice is obviously D&D3.5, but I've been gaming in various systems since 1982 with the Moldvay purple box Basic Set... former World of Darkness player, Call of Cthulu, open to D20 Modern/Future/Star Wars, etc.

A location that is Metro-accessible is preferred, but lack of said accessibility will not necessary prevent my attendance. I am an easy 10-minute walk from the Forest Glen station on the Red Line, and I have a finished basement where 3-4 people could easily spend the night.

What else needs doing? I am a reasonably efficient organizer and I can lead or follow equally well.

Hey, Stormtower! Welcome to the boards! Any help you can provide would be AWESOME!!! :D :D

Also - I work in the castle just down the street from the Forest Glen metro. The husband and I live just a couple miles around the beltway near New Hampshire Ave. Small world and all that. ;) :)

Thanks for the welcome. I moved up here last summer with my wife and our sister (both gamers of many years) to attend U.Maryland - we were in Jacksonville, Florida from 1992-2005 before that. I'm 32... a bit longer in the tooth than your average college student, and I spent 10 years in corporate slavery before getting back into academics. I found a local D&D group to play with back in March (Peter on ENWorld is our DM) - through the ENWorld classifieds, actually, right before the big data loss - and ended up going to my first GenCon this year with some of the guys from that group. What an amazing time!

It's cool that we live so close. We love the area and intend to stay for a long time. As I said, I'm happy to give any help I can to make a Game Day happen - we've got to spread the energy around and make new connections. I've subscribed to this thread so I'll be watching it regularly for updates. Just let me know what needs doing (aside from the obvious manufacturing of freshly baked treats).

Feel free to drop me a line anytime. We like meeting new people, especially gamers, and most especially other folks in our relative age range and martial status :)
