DC/VA/MD ENW Gameday [Cleveland Park, October 27 @ 9:30]

Has anyone thought about doing this at one of the Game Parlor locations in either Chantilly or Woodbridge? I can't speak for the Chantilly location but the Woodbridge location has a very large game room that would be plenty big and I doubt anyone would have to pay a dime for it. There are also a lot of places to eat around the Woodbridge Game Parlor (always a consideration). I can look into it if people would be interested in doing this in VA.

I had not thought about it, however; I question whether or not the Game Parlor would be big enough. Additionally, it'd be very difficult to get to for those of us that live northier (20 minutes, at least, from DC).

Yet, it's probably worth considering. It's certainly a long ways away, but, if the price is right, it'd be pretty awesome. What's more, they're open until 10 and that would be about the time we'd want to quit.

Do you have a connection there? If so, would you mind asking about how many people their gaming area can accomodate and what they would charge?

Here is a link with pics of Game Parlor's Woodbridge game space: http://www.gameparlor.com/Store/wstore.html

Its' a good location and "slightly" bigger than the Chantilly location, but if they have an event going on (wargaming is very frequent) that space will fill quickly. And for those that are unfamiliar with the location, it is located very near to Potomac Mills Mall...not very convenient to those traveling from points north.

Yeah, both of those are a pain to get to, for me anyway. And not terribly convenient for the Baltimore area crowd.

I've had less than pleasant experiences at both (although only been to the Woodbridge one once), but if it works out that that's our best choice, that's cool.

I do have a concern about those spaces (the Woodbridge ones) and that is that the tables are *very* close together. Past gamedays at UMd have gotten extremely loud and made it hard to hear, even when in the big ballroom with 20' between tables or when we were split into two different rooms. Time before last I found myself rushing things along running my last game because my voice was basically shot from having to talk loudly all day.

So, I guess, my first question is: who's willing to help out and what sort of help are you willing to offer?

Creative Mountain Games is happy to support your (and any) gameday. Once the day has come and the games have been played, anyone who has run a game can simple email me, include a link to the thread of the gameday with some post in the thread that verifies they actually ran the game (perhaps one where they thank the players and hosts). CMG will be happy to give them a prize of some type from among our products.

Good luck on your gameday! :)

Sorry, I thought that you might have had something in mind when I read your original post. I'm subscribed and if I can do anything I'll step up.

Woodbridge is all well and good for VA and DC folks, but for myself and Jezter and other Baltimore-ish people (I'm 45 minutes north of Baltimore) Woodbridge is a hike and a half. If we can find something in DC or Montgomery/PG county wise, I'd be a lot more amicable to attend.

As for helping out, I'd be more than happy to make calls, chip in for rentals, etc.

And just for the other side of the coin, Baltimore is 3+ hours from me, so as centrally located around DC it can be, the better. I'll still have to drive 2 hours to get to DC. Further than that and I can't drive up and back in one day, and end up needing to spend $ on a hotel.
