thanks for the PM PKitty.

i put a bid in... but i've stretched myself rather thin this year... so had to go on the low side.

rats... i sure hope this finds a good home.

TSR in the 90s would really throw away or destroy original art rather than sell it or give it to the authors? The more I hear about those times, the more I think that the problem was closer to clinical insanity than just bad marketing.

eBay seller lovetoclose (233*):

Hundreds if not thousands of original items were destroyed, incinerated and forever lost.

I'd always assumed most of the original art found its way into private collections. But to hear most of it was obliterated just floors me.

That might be why I never see much of it online.

I can only feel sorrow thinking of how much classic art is lost.

Oh, my dear Lord.

Eat, or Artwork?
Electric Bills, or Artwork?
Roof over head, or Artwork?

Damn. Self-preservation wins. :(

Looks like a comic store owner from Oakland CA is going to win it.

Actually, looks like Paul Stormberg got it---he's an old school GH fan and hardcore D&D collector. I'm still surprised it didn't go for more, though....

I bid and kept watching it but ended up saying "no". It was worth the price it went for BUT my daughter just had $1300 worth of dental work :( .

So enjoy winner...

cool. at least someone who will appreciate it got it. :D

I don't think I ever quite appreciated Dave Sutherland's work until just this moment. It wasn't just good by the standards of 1978... it's phenomenally good even now. Does he still work in the industry?
