DDI auto log out

Perhaps it is to do with server load, but it is really frustrating when I try and open the compendium from a shortcut and the system no longer recognises me. I wish that they would either have a "keep em logged in" feature or a log in button when you open the compendium directly.

Heh, I noticed that, too. It's somewhat annoying but, if I'm not using it then it does make sense. I think it's gotta be a 5-10 minute timeout, because I was using it this week to plan my game and it only timed out when I'd end up on a long tech call....yeah, I do all my planning at work.

Yeah... It also logs you out if you hit the refresh button...

They seriously need one of those keep me logged in type deals.

There is a "keep me logged in for two weeks" check box if you mis-type your password, but it hasn't worked for me. Aggressive auto-log out.

DDI uses session cookies. You have 30 minutes of time to use DDI before you are logged out.

Once you log in you have 30 minutes to surf another page on the D&D site or the system logs you out. At least that is how I wrote the code and how it worked in testing.

Also because the compendium checks your login state on the D&D site if you get logged out there you are logged out of compendium.

Yes in theory if you surfed a page every 10 minutes you would stay logged in. However there is a maximum limit to how long it would keep you logged in. Although how long that might be is a secret
