[DDI] Did i mend it with a touch?

Remember when the revamped Compendium was unveiled, and lots of steam was blown off because it was slow and used that crappy foto gallery method of showing entries? I was angry because of that, and because tabbed browsing was broken. Even sent Wotc an e-mail - and got an automatic return e-mail, just as expected.

Today log on the compendium to prep for my weekly FR Grey Box Moonsea campaign. The compendium is quick, tabbed browsing works, the foto gallery stuff is gone (if you use tabbed browsing, that is - normal clicking still opens that annoying view).

Did i save us all with one e-mail? Or am i scooped as hell? :p

Hmm, safari still does the annoying photo gallery style when I apple-click. But when I ctrl-click (to bring up a menu) and select open in a new tab, it opens the new item in a new tab. I'd really rather the tab thing work so I can open the three or four things I want rather than have to page through everything.

Hey guys. My name's Trevor and I'm the D&D Community Manager over at Wizards of the Coast.

I dropped the ball on this one. We were recieving lots of feedback concerning the lack of tabbed browsing, starting the day we updated the compendium, both on our own site and here. We picked up on it and immediately started working on a fix to re-implement tabbed browsing, and by thursday afternoon (February 26th) we had the fix live.

So Keefe, your email along with all the feedback people were generating did save us ;).

I'll link to the thread on the wotc boards that we had going once our forums come back up from maintenance.

Hi Trevor nice to "meet" you!

I'm still having the issue where when I cut/paste something from the compendium into a word doc it abandons the background colors. :(

Is this something you're looking into? Or is this a case of sorry man, you're out of luck?

I know it's not a HUGE issue... But the old way really was much more convenient for me, so I figured I'd mention it. :)

I think this is probably more of an issue between your browser's copy functionality, and your WP's paste functionality.

It worked before, it doesn't work anymore. So even if that's the case, something they did caused it to be that way.

If it's something they can't change for some reason, I'm ok with that, but if it's something they can change so I can get the functionality back, that would be great.
