[DDI] Did i mend it with a touch?

Hrm. I tried to submit a bug report through the Wizards help site and had no luck.

I'm also seeing problems with Safari, in case you see this. Two issues:

1) The left hand edge of the Compendium is off the edge of the browser window. This affects ~3 letters; the compendium is still usable.
2) Cmd-click (open in new tab) doesn't work, and instead works as an ordinary click. Selecting "open in background tab" from the menu does work.

The second is _extremely_ weird; I wonder what Safari is sending that is different between the menu and the keyboard shortcut.

Hi Trevor nice to "meet" you!

I'm still having the issue where when I cut/paste something from the compendium into a word doc it abandons the background colors. :(

Is this something you're looking into? Or is this a case of sorry man, you're out of luck?

I know it's not a HUGE issue... But the old way really was much more convenient for me, so I figured I'd mention it. :)

Nice to meet you too!

I've pinged the guys in the D&DI team to see if I can get some more information. When I have something or word of something I'll pop back in.

Welcome to EN World, Trevor, and thanks for reading and responding to community concerns!

Thanks much. My intention is to focus on the community of D&D players as a whole, not just Wizards' D&D community. The community at ENworld has always been high on my list as a group of people who are incredibly engaged in D&D and the RPG gaming industry in general.

When you say you had no luck, what do you mean? Did you try to submit the question/request and got an error, or you submitted but didn't recieve a response?

Tried to submit and got an error. Specifically, the main window went to "update your information" and I got a popup that said "A technical error has occurred. Please close your browser and try again." Doing so didn't help.

Thanks for looking into this! The Compendium is sheer awesome :)

I got that same message the one and only time I tried to submit a bug.

I don't want to cause too much hassle for you guys, but could one of you provide a screen shot of the error for me? I know the dev guys love the screen shots.

Some background too:

I use IE6

Aso for my other issue, I use word 2003

Okies. I think I know what this is. Assuming you're using the form that's in our help system for submitting a bug, this is a weird disconnect that sometimes happens between the different systems. Not sure I have an easy fix for this, but we'll continue the discussion in PMs so I don't derail the conversation here too much more - sorry about that.

Explain what "tabbed browsing" means to an old-timer?

Basically you have multiple different web pages open in one window, each with their own tab to bring them up. Its really useful when you have a list of things you might be interested in, and don't want to go back to the main list. So, for example, I go to the enworld forum listing. Then I open each thread in its own tab, so I can then read each thread, without having to reopen the main forum page.

Hmm, safari still does the annoying photo gallery style when I apple-click. But when I ctrl-click (to bring up a menu) and select open in a new tab, it opens the new item in a new tab. I'd really rather the tab thing work so I can open the three or four things I want rather than have to page through everything.

Umm... you do know that Apple mice are multi-button nowadays and have been for years, right?

Just how old is your mouse?

You might want to check System Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse > Mouse and change the second button to 'right-click'. The default setting is for both buttons to be left-clicks, which is retarded but Apple can be dense and stubborn at times.

Or, better yet, buy a real mouse. I highly recommend the Logitech MX 620 :)
