DDI "Web Tools Suite" (rampant speculation)

Well...everyone can now evaluate how well you predicted the future. The announcement that CB is dead will likely be followed by MB is also dead and CB will be online only from now on. This puts my prediction at half right. Online CB, but offline CB is no more. Some here did better than I did predicting the online only tools. Anyone who was closer to the truth care to pat themselves on the back?

The current downloadable version will remain functional, but will no longer be available for download or updated with content after the new version goes live.

The CB and AT are going to be put down like Old Yeller. They're sufferin'. You know we've got to do it.

I'd be pretty ticked if they delay updates from books more than they have already.

That said, I fully expect them _not_ to support non-web based Character Builder and Monster Builder once these web based tools are out. Web access is nearly ubiquitous now, and this will slam the door on those folks who sub once and then download everything.

This would end the incentive to do that.

Geez, how often do I have to repeat this! Look the web tools their developing are tools to go along with The Hoffmann Institute.

Thank the Internet Gods for whois. I was starting to become quite confused by the repeated mentions of The Hoffmann Institute. Now I at least know you aren't just playing an insanely intellectual rickroll.
