DDM Rant: Dwarves...Aaaarrrgghhh!

Seems like a pretty good proportion if you ask me.

I suspect that my perception is colored by a) not having drow IMC; b) thinking they are played out as a villain in other settings; c) believing that good drow (i.e. PCs) should be vanishingly rare, even in campaigns that include drow; and d) the fact that drow figures are pretty much useless for using as something else. You can at least use dwarves for short, stout humans.

I don't use drow as villians. Dupes would be the best description as they have recently resurrected their god...or so they think. Dark elves take a back seat in my campaign but i don't get too worked up over having 13 dark elf minaitures out of 512. The most recent set, Underdark, had 5 drow in it (plus a demon related to them) and I was surprised they restrained themselves so much. I was fully expecting 10 or more.

While we're griping, fewer skeletons! They're always leaning over.

Well, I could never have enough skeletons but I wish they could get them to stand up.
The Orc skeletons are fine but the skeletal eqiceph is terrible but not as bad as the skeleton from 2 or 3 sets ago which all lay over.

I think they just need to make them all bigger-boned :p

I'm actually short of dwarves. (Accidental pun, but so awful I thought I'd leave it in :) )

One of our group has just decided to play a dwarf druid, and I don't have an appropriate figure. Still, the dwarf wizard we are using is a nice figure.

We also have a gnome druid - again no figure.

If they cut out the dwarf warrior types, I want more druids!

Boil water. Dip base of mini up to it's knees in, wait 5 seconds. Remove from water and gently hold it in the shape you want.

Well yeah, but that involves work, and this is a gripe thread! ;)

Oh, and Gneech, if I ever pull a Beholder, I'll happily trade it to you. The mind flayer is mine, though.
I was in Borders, with 3 packs of Aberrants in hand, flopping them back and forth, squeezing... trying to find that beholder! (I was only gonna buy one...)
I did something right, since I got me a Beholder. :)

I still can't get the gnome cleric from the older pack though, when I go mini shopping they're never around. Most of the gnome figures don't come out that great either.

Considering that the Beholder was in Death Knell, not Aberrations, you either had amazing luck or messed up set names. BTW, your practice of "cherry picking" is held in contempt by many collectors.

My problem with DDM is not with the number of dwarf minis. But Most of the dwarf DDM minis have an axe or hammer. How about some other weapons?
