Deadlands d20 In-Character (Turn 1)

Continue of Round 4,

Feliex you fire at the daemon spirit as it turns to flee, attack roll 12+3 =15, hit damage is 2d4+2, roll 3+1 +2= 6 points of damage.

Round 5,

Scarlet draws her derringer and draws a beed on the monster running away (OCC with greese lightnin' and everything I don't mind it only taking you a half action to do this.)

Running Wolf curse and chants softly to herself ritural roll, 8+8 =16, miss by 1 [DC for 1st level spell is 17]... unless you wish the spirit of fate to help (with a Fate Chip... OK last time I mention them PROMISE :) )

Thomas, while you are shaken up badly you can still fire at the thing as it tries to flee...
Dustin you are scared to high heaven but you can fire at the thing with a -3 to your attack roll this round.
Felix fire again? Another action?

The thing that was the Deputy will be fleeing down the street (depending on some of your actions). He will not get out of sight this round but may be a fair piece away...

Thomas Smith

Shaken up a bit, Thomas manages to compose himself enough to aim and fire off one good shot aimed at the leg of the foul beast to try to keep it from fleeing.

Scarlet decides that creature looks evil enough that is should be put down. Those people are attacking it. Maybe I can help. She realizes that she has only one chance before it moves out of the limited range of her small gun. She aims for the center of it's body and pulls the trigger.

continue round 4,

Scarlet draws her derringer and draws a bead on the monster running away, and shots (at the present the monster is 30' away, so -2 for range with the derringer) Attack roll 15+ 6 +1 (point blank) -2 range mod = 20 hit! Damage roll 2d6+1 [OCC wow these little things do good damage!] 2+4 +1 =7 points of damage.

Running Wolf curse and chants softly to herself ritural roll, 11+8 =19, success! the fates are with you as the creature start fleeing away from you the weeds and crabgrass and other half-dead vegetation starts coming to life and grabbing everything in sight... and the runs right into it but is able to jump out of the way of most of the stronger looking plants Creatures reflex save roll 19+5 =24, so he can still move but at half speed. I will say that he moves across most of the area of effect this round but will have to make another roll next round to escape the entangle completely. SO after Thomas's attack he will be 50' away from most of you, except Scarlet whom will be 80' away from the creature...

Thomas, while shaken badly by the creature, takes careful aim and shots once for the leg (well there aren't really any called shots rules in D&D I will say that it is the standard -4 to hit, and if you hit him in the leg I will make him make a Fort check to see how badly the leg is hurt and how badly his movement is effected)... Attack roll 12 +4 +1 (point blank) -3 (fear) -4 (called shot)= 10 miss

Scarlet steps out from around the corner. I better save my last shot for later, that thing's too far out of range already. As she emerges from behind the wall, she lifts the business end of her derringer up to her rosey lips, then coolly blows at the smoke drifting out of the barrel. She looks around at the others, "Howdy! What's going on? What kind of beast is that over there??"

OOC: I'm trying to understand what round we are actually in. From what you wrote, I believe that we are about to head into round 5 and the beast is 50' away from me. Is this right?

Though I'm am fearful of the demon, I won't allow its escape. I will move forward 30' and attempt to shoot it in the leg again.

OCC I was mostly waiting for you to write before moving to round 5, oh and also I could not even get on yesterday. Sorry all...

Round 5,

Scarlet walks around the corner "Howdy! What's going on? What kind of beast is that over there??

Running Wolf glances at her with a suspiciously looks back at the beast as it is making its way to the far side of the effected area. What does your character do?

Thomas thinks to himself how an the blazes did I miss that thing? and fires at it again (OCC unless you would like to rapid fire or shot at the leg again) Attack roll natural 20! hit with a threat, follow-up roll 14+ 4 -3 (fear effect) 15, successful crit. Damage goes to the creatures Wounds, roll 8+2 +1 = 11 points, and it must makes a Fort check roll 6+3 =9 fail, he is "winded and wuffie" -2 to Str and Dex, can not run or charge! striking the creature square in the back. It screams a most unholy wail and staggers to one knee.

The creature that was the Deputy staggers to his feet as plants and tumble weed try and wrap around its feet Reflex save, roll 19+5 =23, success but it is able to avoid them and start looping down the road (but not as fast as before or even close to it...

Dustin, marshalling his courage, moves after the creature in order to get a better shot at it with his pistol... when plants, twigs and weeds reach out from around the dirt road to try and grab him (OCC none of you have ever see something like this before, no like normal D&D and so I don't think you would be expecting it at all, hence the Reflex save roll 10+1 =11, DC of 14, fail and wrap around his legs tightly, almost causing him to trip! But Dustin manages to stay on his feet and even though his legs are wrapped up tight! Yelling out defiantly Dustin tries to fire at the retreating beast OCC it does say you get -4 to your Dex but I don't see this effecting your shooting ONLY your AC and Reflex and Skill rolls right now. There is a note at the end of Entangle that says the GM can modify the effects depending on the plants etc. So Dustin's Attack roll 16 +3, -3 (fear) -2 (range) = 14 hit, damage roll 2d6+1, 5+5+1 = 11 damage and hits is again in the shoulder. The creature gives another wail, not as loud this time and it almost falls... yet somehow it stays on its feet.

Felix is about to jump off the porch when he sees Dustin all tangled up by some weeds and other little plants that he notices are all moving and twisting like Spot roll 10, which I figure is good enough and stops short... look around the creature is about 70' feet away and not a good shot with a pistol... but Felix's has to try and stop it somehow... Felix, you can try and move into the "entanglement" area and hope to avoid the plants, fire your gun from here at -4 for range or cast a spell...

All of you notice that the creature is moving very slowly and seems to almost be crying... but it sends a chill down your spine as it is evil and un-mournful, almost a cry and pure and hate and anger at over the fate it is being dealt...

Running Wolf looks at those who are caught in the grip of the tangle wees with a scowl. What sins against the earth have they committed to cause them to be caught so? She thinks to herself. Perhaps I will teach these white men to respect the spirits before this is all over.

With grace, Running reaches down and grabs her bow. She fits an arrow to it, and points upwards at an angle. TWANG - an arrow flies directly towards the deputy creature.

OOC: Shortbow +4, Range increment 60'.
