Sorry, my bad. I misspoke about the crunch in this version.

However, the PDF can now be had very cheaply. So those of you who want to read the novel and still wait for the crunchy-super-deluxe version can do that.

I guess I can forgive your vile taint and the manner in which you lie. :) ;)

But don't let ie happen again :D :p

I bought the nice expensive book, versus the pdf, anyway. I'm sure it is worth it, but you can't blame a guy for asking why so much. Well, I guess on a forum you can, but that is my story and I am sticking to it. :o

Really, I am just happy I didn't have to wait for it. I thought for sure it wouldn't come out until September and then get delayed until January. However, if the production schedule is anything like the way you update your story hour, I could have seen it not coming out until 2010 :heh: :p ;)

Hey, ow. That's a little close to the mark. :D

Don't you see, it was all in my fiendish plan. Write a story hour that a publisher/site owner likes to read, update infrequently, and then wait for him to offer a book deal just so I'll finish the damn thing. :]

Works everytime.

mmm PDFy goodness.
I was worried that having been a follower of the SH, I would not get as much from the first installment, at least until it caught up with the orginal. I was wrong, its lovely.

Okay, a new thought.

I love Blackdirge, (not in that way sicko :p ) but $19.99 for 154 pages? Don't you think that is a little high? Even a Terry Goodkind novel close to 1,000 pages is under $8.

I know ENWorld is tight on money as of late and I know this is a smaller production run that most full length novels, such as a Terry Goodkind novel, but this seems a bit pricey, don't you think.

How many 154 page books are you going to sell in this series for $19.99?

Also, for small print runs books leap up in price. I was interested in self-publishing a 50 page short story I did through Amazon.com's new self-publishing service, but it would have cost people about $13 per story. Too steep. If I did multiple short stories and got up to 500+ pages the book would have been about $25, which is still high but a bit more reasonable. So Morrus' price is in the range for a self-published work of limited quantity.

Yeah, but the benefit here is that you don't have to read a Terry Goodkind novel...

Congratulations on getting your stuff (which looks really cool, btw) out there!

I'll probably pick up the PDF, because lulu is based over the other side of the world. This means: International shipping + quite high base cost + conversion rate for both [this last not being terrible at the moment, mind you]. Then no doubt I'll print it out on laser and get it bound cheaply.

Er. Is it legal to do that in this instance though? If not, then I won't, FWIW.

Thanks!

Printing up a PDF and binding it for your own personal use is perfectly legal. That's why many PDFs come with a "printer friendly" version. :)

That's what I assumed was always the case. . .

. . . until some people indicated otherwise, online. To the extent of some PDFs being locked vs. printing, apparently.

So yeah, just thought I'd ask what the legality and creator's/publisher's preference was here.

Cheers. :)
