Death Race remake

Well since the new trailer for the remake of Death Race is up, it clearly a whole different aspect. It's more of a Car Wars movie than what the original was. In the original it was cross country racing and one thing that made what the original a cult classic was the body count and death points of pedestrians are now gone in the remake.

I actually saw the preview and didn't even realize it was supposed to be a remake until I read this, and the IMDB page. It appears to have nothing to do with the original except the title and a character called Machine Gun Joe.

I'm seeing it more as a SFX Car Wars movie, myself. I find it's healthier on my stress levels if I tend to ignore the actual TITLE of a remake and judge the film on its own merits.

Of course, it's not like the original Death Race was a high point in the world of cinema.

Okay, fast cars, guns on cars, racing, throw in a few hot chicks. The star of this movie is BOOM!, basicly the same character in all his movies, not much range, other than small, med, and big, sometimes extra big, but has been known to appear multiple times in a scene. Oh, BOOM! sucks at dialog.




I don't think we will find too much more in the movie.

I think the studio that made the remake spent a great deal of money to remove everything good about the original. Go Hollywood!

True, but the original was cheap, fun, and clever. I'm guessing the same can't be said about the new one.

I've never seen the original, but the previews for this one looked pretty awful.

Also, what the hell is Joan Allen doing in this movie? I hope it was a decent paycheck...
