IMO, death urge is the psionic version of phantasmal killer. Both give a Will save to negate the effect entirely, and then gives you some serious hurting and possibly killing you. The difference is that death urge works best against opponents with strong melee attacks (who usually also have good Fort saves), while that kind of opponent tends to be a poor choice of target for phantasmal killer.But then again, this is one of those powers that make me disallow Psionics in my game. As a result, I really don't know much about Psionics... ;-(
