December & Beyond: Previews

I don't care what the topic is, so long as they start showing some real numbers and mechanics. Anything else is just more fuel for the rampant speculation fires.

I want to see the new Spell, Monster, and Trap "stat blocks". Let's see an actual Feat write-up, mechanical details and all.

That was the weakest "and beyond" column I've ever seen.

Where are the early mins previews?

Where's the Stormreach preview?

Agreed. I'm sure there was a Dungeon Tile set or 2 that they could have previewed. I'm underwhelmed. Considering that the "X and Beyond" articles are basically advertising and hype generation this is not a good thing.

Well, they could have written up a blurb for Starships of the Galaxy and pointed over to the previews on the Star Wars Saga site...

My thoughts were:
1. Just one empire? Humans (IRL) have had dozens of "ancient empires, destroyed by war." Is WotC saying the other races are all underachievers?

The demi-humans have always been underachievers in one way or another. Whether its elves taking 10x as long to master the basics of magic, or being crippled learners and hitting level caps.

But really, this has been a consistent thing. Humans get a boatload of kingdoms, and each non-human race gets a couple. Maybe a handful, at most. Or maybe just one.

Any why can't they just die of corruption/stagnation from within, like most (IRL) Empires do?

Aren't those the reason most empires fall to war? I can't think of one(except maybe Alexander's & the Soviet's) that fell solely to corruption and stagnation.
