I just noticed that both Races of Destiny and Complete Adventurer both have alternative uses of the Decipher Script skill for making coded scripts, but the rules that they have for such a feat are different. I can't really tell if there is some fine nuance to them that is supposed to be different (and thus warrant the alternative rules) or not; if it's there, it is so finely nuanced as to be unnoticeable to me.
Does anyone know if there has been any errata about this, or some rationale, or difference that I am failing to note? It seems weird that they wouldn't have caught such a thing in the editing, as both books came out around the same time.
