Deck of Many Things question...

If you draw a Fates card, can you save it to, say, undo the drawing of a subsequent card? Even the Void?

Yes. This is well-established for earlier editions of the game, but I don't think there's anything explicitly stated either way in 3e or 3.5.

If you're the DM, the answer I would give is what the Jester said

If you're the player, my answer is "whatever your DM says"

I had a character once draw a card that made him turn into a squirrel. Thank gods one of the party mages knew the Wish/Miracle spell.

I'm the player, actually. The question came up because my DM asked me what I thought, in my DM opinion.

I made a deck of many things by pasting the old Dragon print of them to real cards. My DM wanted to "borrow" them, and asked me that question.

So far, I think the only game he's running is the one I'm in as a player.

Things that make you go... Hmmmmm.

I love a Deck of Many things. Pretty much of a staple of high school gaming, I think.

Haven't seen one in years. I might have to consider putting one in my campaign. Just to see the look on my old crusty players' faces. "A deck of many things, I haven't seen one of those in years! I.. I... I pull from the deck!!!"

People never learn.

Haw! I was right. Got it last night.

It was the first time any of us had ever encountered a DoMT (I never had the guts to throw it into my campaigns, too disruptive).

Dialogue went something like this:
Wizard: Donovan, if you get banished to another plane, I'm not coming after you.
Rogue (shuffling cards): Name the game, Don.
Me: Three-card stud.

It was very funny. Even the DM couldn't take the suspense. By the third card, the deck was shaking in his hand. The suspense was killer.

Drew Knight, Star, and for the grand finale, Sun. It was possibly the funnest thing that has ever happened to one of my characters.

I'll never use it in my campaign, though (snicker).
