I say Dee, die is multiple dice, but dee. The d's an abbreviation, so my group and I say dee, either because we all think the same way, or because those who don't think like that in the group are lazy.

Except that d6 is short hand for "six sided die" not "die six."

But, like someone said, I'm certainly not going to get all up in arms over the usage.

Like I do about drow. ;)

Yes, but I commented specifically on the d meaning die (or dice), not the whole meaning of the phrase. The d in d6 means die or dice, the 6 means six and the sided...well, that's somewhere in between.

All I did was comment on the d and die connection, though.

Besides, it goes...

"How now
Brown drow."

Mwaha. Drow may flow but for me it just don't go, ya' know?

I say dee as in the letter. That's what's there, after all.

Pronouncing drow as cow is a pet peeve of mine, because it sounds monumentally stupid. Another one is pointing to some lame "official" pronunciation source. Usually the same one that says bullette is pronounced boo LAY.

Boneheaded WotC/TSR.

LOL

I unfortunately pronounce bulette as (Bulay [as in mule and lay]) a slight variation on the WotC/TSR one you derided. Pronounciation-wise, it just makes sense. However, is this the worst name for a monster? Whichever way you pronounce it.

About the drow thing. Which way do you pronounce it? Unfortunately I am also in the dumb cow camp. Are you in the "Hey Bro" posse or doing something entirely different?

Best regards
Herremann the Wise

PS: d6 to me is "dee-six"

Wow.

I *gotta* hear the justification of that statement. I'm all ears, as they say. :D
