Defeating a D&D god

Ever check out Sepulchrave IIs story hour? You bring your own celestial/infernal armies with you of course. I guess I fall on the other side of this argument. I feel it smacks of DM protectivism to not stat an evil magnate. If archfiends occasionally bump each other off, PCs should be able to do it as well, however difficult.

Well i think if you bring your celestial army and win you'll unbalance the fragile universe of the plane.

The bloodwars between demon and devil is going since the beginning of time, if this could be possible to destroy a devil lord as you suggest, i guess someone would did it long before the PC would be born...

I just have a hard time to conceive that someone could do that, but this fine to me if other people think this could be possible.
