Deification

When a mortal gains Divine Rank 0 would you just give her/him the special abilities of a quasi-deity and change type or would you also add 20 HD of outsider?

D&Dg even says that mortals who ascend to become deities do not get the 20 Outsider hit dice.

Thanks! I don't have the D&Dg book, just access to the RAW and it was not clear on how that worked.

Would the mortal's type also include the [native] descriptor?

This is somewhat hard to adjudicate, as the Native and Extraplanar subtypes were added in 3.5E, and D&Dg is a 3.0E book (likewise, the v.3.5 Accessory Update Booklet and SRD aren't any help).

The Native subtype is only applied to Outsiders, and it seems unlikely that ascending to being a deity would necessarily change your type. Given that, they probably wouldn't gain that subtype. More likely, their types and subtypes wouldn't change at all. They'd retain their base type, and add the Extraplanar subtype if they were on another plane (Transitive planes notwithstanding) as normal.

Yes, no outsider hd, but maybe a new subtype: god or immortal.
Immortality: All deities (even those of rank 0) are naturally immortal and cannot die from natural causes. Deities do not age, and they do not need to eat, sleep, or breathe. The only way for a deity to die is through special circumstances, usually by being slain in magical or physical combat. Deities of rank 1 or higher are not subject to death from massive damage.

It's close to the outsider type but it's not.
