Ok based on another thread that I have been working on I went an dsent out some emails to see if anything non-chaosium is comming out this year. I got a few replies from Tccorp and from Delta-Green.com. I would like to thank them for responding in less than 12 hours! This should be good news to see confirmation on some of this stuff if your a fan.

We're working hard to get the d20 Delta Green done, but I wouldn't expect it before April. On the other hand, there are NO plans to do the same with Delta Green Countdown at this time.

Nothing definitive has been posted on the website because nothing definite has been announced. A "D20" Delta Green book is under development, but its exact composition and release date are still unknown.

I do not think there are any plans for Countdown. Countdown is still available for purchase through the regular channels, so the demand is not as great there as for the material from the original Delta Green.

Just keeping a heads up for all of those curious out there!

Hmmm. E-mailing Pagan Publishing and actually asking them about DG d20? Why, that's just crazy enough to work!!

:D

Thanks for the "official" info, Shapermc - YOU DA MAN!!

Very cool indeed, Shapermc.

I no longer have my copy of Delta Green :( (although I do have Countdown), and I've been waffling about buying a secondhand copy of the original DG book on eBay. Given that they generally go for more than cover price + shipping, I haven't been that eager to shell out for it. Knowing that Pagan expects to release the dual-stat version in April, I think I can hold off until then for sure. Thanks for heads-up. :)

Can they do it? I hope so, considering that John Tynes is now out of the RPG writing career.

When did this happen? My understanding is that Tynes is still writing CoC stuff -- he contributed "Earth, Sky, Soul" to the revised Dunwich book, and he was certainly present at Pagan's booth at GenCon02.

Given how much he's contributed to CoC -- and how good his contributions are -- I'd hate to see him give up the ghost.

All I know is that he had a wonderful experience writing for RPGs but that chapter of his life has come to an end. Now he's looking for a new endeavor to explore.

Earth, Sky, Soul is reprinted from a past TUO (I forget which number). He's (supposedly) concentrating more on software these days - most notably writing the Delta Green PC game due out this year.

Interesting.

I guess it's similar to the way Gary Larson stopped doing Far Side and Bill Watterson stopped doing Calvin and Hobbes: they thought it was the right time, and didn't want their work to limp along half-heartedly -- so they called it quits. I miss those strips -- and I'll miss Tynes's CoC material -- but I can respect that decision.

...which is good, since none of them care one bit what I think about it. ;)

You know, not to sound bad, but if Tynes is out, he really is not needed to do a d20 version of Delta Green. It will still have all his flavor, structure and content, it will just be d20 friendly. I wish that I have a legacy to leave behind when I decide to call it quits.

edit: also I emailed Tynes, but have not gotten a reply from him yet, so...
