Deluxe 4E Core Books

From Wizards of the Coast Weekly Update 9/2/08 emphasis mine. Anyway, I spoke to our sales rep. The original post is what he told me. Apparantly the WotC listing on their web site has not yet been updated. Not the first time.
As to whether you trust me, you don't know me.

I suspect that it's not that they don't trust you it's that they don't trust what the WoTC person said.

Probably should keep in mind that that is WotC's price, not [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Players-Handbook-Deluxe-Core-Rulebook/dp/0786950439/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1220417428&sr=8-4"]Amazon's[/ame].

Thanks for clearing it up! ;)

*snort* The last time I payed $75 for a single book, it was a gigantic cell bio tome that I used for three classes and still consult for reference every so often. Given how academic books are usually small print runes and required for classes, I still felt used by paying that much for it.

No way in hell would I pay that much for what amounts to "there's a shiny foil cover, and well this time we may or may not still have recycled 3e artwork, and don't forget the spiffy ribbon bookmark! The ribbon bookmark makes all the difference! Yeah, that's the ticket!" It's not like you're getting something like Ptolus for your money either.

Hmm. Suddenly I have the urge to buy all 3 books, despite me totally not interested in it. And posting about how awesome it is and how it changed my life for the better.

Ah, well, I will get over this contrarian phase, I am sure...

lol! :D

Even the Amazon price ($50) seems too high to me.

You only paid 75 dollars for a book in college?

I pay more than that usually ... Where did you go?

I didn't like the new cover look of the 4E series at the time they first anounced it and I still don't now. I had hoped that the deluxe edition would have leather covers and solve this problem. Instead they jack the price for the same bad look but in foil now. Foil is not deluxe, as someone else mentioned it is a rare CCG card, leather is deluxe.
