Not to mention that it will likely have the same crummy paper, smudging ink, and glue binding as the regular book. For that much money it really should be case bound like a text book.

I've been squarely on the side of WotC for most of the 4e stuff, but really. 75$ for a single book might not be too bad... if it had the leather cover, better production quality and all that jazz. Oh yeah, and if it weren't only four bloody months after the release of the new edition. "Deluxe" is something you do far down the line, not right out the door.

Four or five years from now, buying the main books all over again for over twice the cost might be something I'd look into. If just to have a fancy-ish shelf-copy that won't get all worn and battered from long use. But right now? Hell no. Seriously, who actually thought this would be a good idea?

I pay more than that usually ... Where did you go?

$200 per book for my danish-french dictionaries.. And there was 4 of them.. But yeah, $75 does seem like a lot, even for a deluxe edition. /shrug
