This poll could probably use an Indifferent. I use the format, but I don't really need it. However, it's nice having everything in one place.

No, make a choice. Do or do not, there is no try. If you have used the format, you should be able to say whether you like it or not. If someone is really indifferent, they shouldn't vote. ;)

Assuming the format can be updated to include the more dynamic combat structure that has been discussed (reinforcements, multiple groups) I think I'd like to see the delve format get a test drive for 4E.

For others, if there are formats you'd like to see more than what we have now (including "the way it used to be") that would be a no answer.

I've never seen this before...
I think it looks practical, and consistent with WotC wish to make the books look more like magazines.

No. It's a really really good first attempt at an adventure format, but it's a bit too limited in the encounters it will support. Given the additional space that the delve format requires, I think they need to revisit the format, and try to improve it.

I haven't run any adventures that have been printed since the introduction of the delve format, but, if it is more intuitive than its predecessor, I hope it is used as a starting point for 4e's adventure format. Does it have all the necessary information for a given encounter contained a two-page spread so that no page-flipping is needed to view it all? That's what I would really like to see.

You can see an adventure with the delve format by downloading the module that came out in Dungeon last month. It does try to give you everything you need to run an encounter on a page or two, but in doing so uses up a huge amount of space compared to older methods. It also requires you to do a lot more reading for each encounter and strips away much of the dm's ability to adjust things on the fly. I think it's good for a module meant for a new dm, but that's it.
