Demographics in SRD?

Am I going blind, or is the Demograpics section in the DMG - you know, the bit with the random town generator table, power center type, gp limit, etc - not in the SRD? I can't find it anywhere!

You're not going blind, it is not in the SRD.

Probably what is confusing you is the same thing that confused me. There are obviously lots of supplements out that make use of the formatting and methodology, and strictly speaking I suppose they shouldn't be. Perhaps someone will make their own one of these days and release it as OGC so we can put this nasty business behind us.

You're actually spot on here. I was reading a supplement that used that exact method and since I was writting something that could use it, I went and checked out the SRD, but couldn't find it. In the end, I just changed a few things - such as Maximum Gold instead of GP Limit and Goverment for Power Center and then used that which was in the SRD such as Alignment. It wasn't exactly difficult. I was just surprised it wasn't in the SRD as I could see no good reason for not releasing it OGC.

Anyway, thanks for your responses - glad I'm not going blind
