Demonomicon: Baphomet

Reading it I was thinking it would be really cool if there was a skill challenge for negotiating the Endless Maze. Maybe we can come up with one in this thread.
Also I dig that Baphomet is the "beast inside us all" but is also really into doing scientific research in his Horrid Spire.
It all kind made me think of Bowie in "Labrynth"

Aye. The article is really good and choke full of ideas. Your idea about the skill challenge is definitely a great idea, and with something that size, you could probably incorporate most skills, since there is virtually no limit to what is in that maze..

For a well-balanced group, that'd be one epic skill challenge. Maybe expand on the rules as given and make it session-long, with each success or failure dictating what comes next in the maze.

Hehe. I meant there was no limit to what skill you could incorporate, not that you should incorportate every skill. However, breaking it up makes much more sense. The maze is an epic place, and should just not be passed through with a single skill challenge.

Maybe one could make a set of smaller skill challenges that a DM could use to simulate the maze. Each part leads to something different (win or lose), and it doesn't matter in which order you do the parts.
Just a thought.

As a bit of a mythology buff...the fact they got several of the more 'real life' aspects of Baphomet's history into the article was nifty. Especially the bit about militant arms of churches and being worshiped as a head. I still think the Knights Templar got a bum deal, though.

Also...Baphomet is now, officially, the most Metal of all demons. \m/ \m/

It does feel odd that the article doesn't have the actual stats for Baphomet, along with what might be more about his background. But if it does appear in the Manual of Planes, then it's good that they aren't repeating information. Granted I still prefer the previous Demonomicom article, but it's at least as good as the Yeenoghu article.

But I was hoping the article had stats for the Bulezau Goat-Demons that have been associated with Baphomet a lot.

I'm glad they've mentioned Pale Night, even if I'm one of the only ones who really wants a Demonomicom article on the enigmatic Mother of Demons.
