This one is indeed a very good article. Lately, it seems that the quality of the articles has improved. Now, if they could do something about the quantity... ;)

To me, this is the 4e version of A Paladin In Hell: Craig J Spearing
This guy is amazing. I loved that particular image when I first saw it (it made me think of one of my fellow PCs, and was thusly stolen).

I just skimmed his gallery. Wow. Just Wow. Some of it put me in mind of Keith Parkinson, and the rest, I don't even know, but it was good.

Thanks for posting that link!

They *do* still hire decent artists from time to time! Go figure!

I would have liked a version/aspect to fight at lower levels, maybe like 16. But once it's in the monster builder I can do what I want with it. Muahaha!
In addition to that template, there's also those monster theme abilities which can be dropped in easily.

The awesome art is by Craig J. Spearing, one of my favorite 4e artists.
I can see why!

The cover art is awesome, here. It puts me in mind of shoggoths, a bit, from lovecraft - only with fewer eyes. I'd never really made a jubilex-shoggoth connection before, but now, after the art and the article, it just makes sense.

I mean, I always just thought of his kinda silly AD&D art :)
