D&D General Demonweb Pits!? Neverwinter the cg is going there. Could that mean the RPG is?

I think he meant the MMO?

Or could you creat your own mods in the MMO?
Yes, the MMO, and you could create your own mods in it. Was a good way to earn AD, both for player, and creator. This was 10 or 11 years ago, though. All classes were 4e Essentials classes (guardian fighter, greatweapon fighter, trickster rogue, controller wizard, so forth). I had the special edition founder pack. It came out prior to a job change and move to PA for me, and, since that happened in 2013, I'm basing time frame around that.

Hate how the console versions are independent of each other. My PC account still has my original character somewhere (Caedan the Rogue), my Xbox account has a paladin, and my PS account, into which I logged in for the first time in 5 years Tuesday, still had my greatweapon fighter who got turned into a barbarian. Also, my founder's pack didn't transfer between platforms, which SUCKS.

Was Lolth the instigator?
Spoiler:
Yes. Gromph Baenre casts a spell that goes awry, and it summons the demon lords. This was all influenced by Lolth, who wanted the Abyss to herself.
In the latest Neverwinter module, Gromph Baenre is again involved, and another spell seems to have been cast, impacting Menzoberranzan.

Was Lolth the instigator? I ran a campaign semi-based on that campaign for six months and never knew she was involved. I thought it was just a rogue Drow archmage who'd messed up and let a bunch of demon princes into the Underdark.

I don't really know or care whether I'm right or you're right, I think the main take-away is that that campaign did a truly terrible job of presenting its materials.
Spoilers for Out of the Abyss:
Lolth essentially gives info to Gromph Baenre on how to cast a super powerful ritual that will summon several demon princes to Menzoberranzan, but makes him think that the demon princes will be under his control. The ritual does not go as Gromph planned, the demon princes ravage the city and then scatter around the Underdark to do their own thing. It turns out Lolth planned all of this so that:

1- The Drow would fall into chaos, which is always her MO
2- All major demon princes being forcibly moved from their Abyssal domains allows her to attempt to conquer those domains while their masters are away.

But yeah, the book really did not present all of its info in a concise manner. You need to read through the entire book to get a clear idea of what's going on.
