Denizens of Avadnu--your thoughts?

It has for me, I've never seen it or even heard of it. Having "of Avadnu" as part of the title might not help either. Although most monster books are fairly portable, I'm still more likely to buy a generic one that one specifically designed for a setting that I don't use (and haven't even heard of).
What does avandu mean anyway?

[ot]Hi there, John. Did you get your books yet?[/ot]

Avadnu is, if I'm not mistaken, the name of the world upon which Inner Circle's "Violet Dawn" campaign setting is based.

How did I miss this book? It looks good and has a ton of OGC monsters!

Looks like it's time for me to order a new book of monsters.

A lot of people say that exact thing....it has been missed by a lot of people

That's why I thought I'd bring it up again. I like the fact that they offer some of the art prints for sale as well (even though some may not care for the pieces).

I thought it was an insanely good first effort from a publisher.

The art impressed me not just with its quality, but it's quantity as well.

My resident Math Nerd ran a selection of the monsters through his nitpicking gauntlet and they all came up solid (though I too would love to see John Cooper go to work on DoA)

I gave it a 5/5 in my review and the interveneing time has done nothing to change that opinon.

I liked it very much. It rivals ToHI and CCII as tops for my "sticky test" (i.e., how many creatures I flag for use in it in my game with yellow stickies). The book has an excellent mood to it. Much like CCII, it has lots of writeups, but mostly hightly portable things that will make you WANT to use them in your game.
