Flanked ( I am not sure if this actually removes dex bonuses or is just used as a trigger for certain conditions)

Grappled.

Of course, the problem with grappling is that the allied grappler is as likely to get hit as the enemy. Maybe there's a feat where this isn't the case in some Complete or 3rd party book?

Actually, that is only a problem with ranged weapons. A meelee attacker can choose which grappler to hit, with no chance of hitting the "wrong" person.
