Design a usable Epic Spell, please, for actual use in a game

I looked at straight summoning for DC reduction and was disappointed. All I found that could cast spells were Lillends, Couatls, and Celestial Charger Unicorns. Did I miss a gem off either the summon monster or SNA spell lists?

Yeah, planar binding would be quite efficient.

Level 1: Explosive Spell, Snowcasting, Scribe Scroll
Level 3: Energy Substitution (electricity)
Level 5: Craft Wondrous Item
Level 6: Empower Spell
Level 9: Born of the Three Thunders
Level 12: Alacritous Cogitation
Level 15: Extraordinary Spell Aim
Level 18: Arcane Thesis (Apocalypse from the Sky)

Key problems:

- Explosive Spell only works for spells allowing a reflex save, which AftS does not. I don't think the reflex save to avoid stunning due to BotTT counts, here.

- Errata on AftS says that the artifact requirement is a focus, not a material component.

But anyway, to kill an entire army, you don't even need the explosive spell part. You don't even really need the ability to cast it as a full-round action, though that's nicely twinkish. Just by itself, AftS kills whole cities, with the only survivors being those who can take the average 35 (or 53 empowered) damage.

True... Good catch...

Can't seem to locate any errata on this. Have a link by chance? Or which errata is it in? AftS came from Book of Vile Darkness, and there isn't any errata on that that I can find.

Does anyone have a link to relevant post from the Sepulchrave II story hour thread(s)? It seems he/she has more than one and one of them is 377 posts long.
