You're missing the save button, apparently!

It appears in the little bubble which pops up when you choose your location.

Yes. I've whipped up a graphical example of the sort of thing I'm envisaging.

That's nice for one or two rolls. But when you've got more than that (frequently in DM posts, occasionally by PCs, especially in high-level 3.x or when using action points in 4e) it's eating up a lot of space.

I'd vote against any kind of all-image format; it's useful to be able to copy & paste rolls.
