Desperately seeking...

Hey there,

I am currently making an amalgamated fantasy world, using various published fantasy settings and hacking the parts I like together... but I am missing some stuff and having a devil of a time finding anything related to these locales;

India
Russia
Africa

Essentially I am looking for fantasy settings based on them, not they themselves.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers!

A lot of the Conan setting is inspired (loosely) by Africa.

Kislev from the Warhammer Fantasy setting is based on Russia with Poland and Lithuania mixed in too.

I don't know anything for India and some quick googling has left me with nothing.

Try D20 Mythic Vistas: Mindshadows from Green Ronin for India. There's GURPS Russia and Mythic Russia, as well as any of the recent sourcebooks on arctic and Scandinavian settings. For Africa, I recommend D20 Nyambe and the retro-clone Spears of the Dawn. In addition, there were articles in Dragon magazine on those regions.

Arrows if Indra looks good!

Kislev is on my list to check out.

As for Mythic Russia or GURPS Anywhere, I should clarify that I am looking for the Russian, Indian and African equivalents of Kara-Tur.

Thanks guys!

There's a series of comics called The Red Star which is sort of an alternate history with advanced technology and very technologically-themed magic, and it's primarily a Russian setting and heavily steeped in Russian folklore.

7th Sea did a play on these places. Russia was Ussura, the Middle East/India was the Cresent Empire, and Africa/ the Caribbean was the Midnight Archipelago (although the explores society source books also had a lot of "Africa" like place). Each had there own source books; sadly its been out of print for awhile and the source books are not cheap.
