D&D 4E Destiny's Tears OOC Thread 4E

Some sblock's are alright - they are just annoying and difficult when trying to come up with information from earlier in the thread when used in excess . . . and wasted time in typing and opening them.
That's true--the main reason I use them whenever characters are apart is so it isn't obvious when something important will happen. The same thing applies to actual games. If the only time you ever pass a piece of paper to a player or take them out of the room is when something happens, then every time you pass something to a player or take them out of the room, the other players might tie that character up and ask "OK, so are you a doppleganger now, were you dominated by a vampire, or what?"

I guess that PM's would work better in that regard than Sblocks, though. In most of my face-to-face games, there are a lot of notes being passed - with very few actually being sneaky bad stuff.

I always enjoy passing the note to a player that says - "Roll a d20, add it to your will save, and give me the number, when I shake my head no, look upset." ;)

This is true. I was thinking of using PMs for that purpose, but there are four things in my way. First, it would probably slash my postcount. Second PMs are limited in storage, so we couldn't easily keep track of everything. Third, not everyone has them, so some people would still need SBLOCKs. And last but certainly not least (in fact, probably most), the crash took away my Community Supporter status, so I can't even send them

Well, to start - I think your post count is rather safe. :) ;) Second, PM's are limited in storage, though they aren't needed for too long before they are more common knowledge. Obviously, you would want to only use them for serious stuff. Third, no getting around that, to be certain. :\ Fourth . . . you should talk to Morrus or someone about that . . . I'm sure you aren't the only person that has happened to. :) :)

I think there's a bunch of people, so I'm waiting patiently for them to get to me :)

Morrus had made an announcement about that... HERE is something about it.

PMs are quite useful for stuff that not everyone should be aware of, and generally useful as well, I'm using those in one of the two games I'm DMing (that one on another forum). You just need to clear your inbox regularily. ;)

Yeah, I saw the announcements before, and I'm not convinced it will actually happen by the end of this week, but I'm not going to go complain about it, at least yet. Yay for status quo!

Well download the thread and search that way, it's what I do. The upside of that is it also creates a nice backup in case... ;)
