Of course. :)

Was just wondering, if there's someone left downstairs, if Priya and Melody head upstairs to go looking for Fedowin.

[SBLOCK=Bront and Thanee]Uhh...no idea how that got there :o I think it must have been when I realised I had called Priya Whinoah and went back to write Priya, but that doesn't explain why I said window [/SBLOCK]

[SBLOCK=Rystil and Bront]Yeah, well... looks like the 'others' know quite well about us and our schemes with us stumbling about in the dark mostly hoping to bump into something positive, since we know pretty much nothing at all. Small wonder we stand absolutely no chance there; and she was what... twice our level and in a totally superior position? :p

Speaking of which... when she first attacked us (and I later realized that was *inside* the room, since I thought we were on the corridor first) you did make a few assumptions there for us, which I probably wouldn't have (considering, that we were rather suspicious of the whole thing already with Fedowin not coming back), and which put us into a very bad situation... like getting inside the room and letting her lock us in, standing close together, even though the room is big and we would probably move around it (if we are inside, anyways)... but it was too late for that by the time I looked at the thread already. ;)

I hope you at least made some rolls for us to spot the disguise/illusion while interacting with her, and not just assumed we wouldn't notice. :)

In any case, I don't think that Melody will continue to pursuit the Crazan Arris after this. There's simply no point in going up against such obviously superior opposition when there is so much else to do, than risking your life for 'nothing'. Especially if our leads are little more than pure guesswork there.[/SBLOCK]

[SBLOCK=Thanee and Bront]Yep, I definitely rolled Spot (Sense Motive too). As to them knowing about you guys--they knew somebody was probably coming after them because they were being targeted by scry, and Sasuke knows what everyone except Priya looks like, but they had no clue you guys were coming after them today until they caught Alire snooping around.

As for the assumptions--a few of them (such as the locked room), I made sure to establish ahead of time by a few posts (she closed and unlocked the other room and then there was an earlier post where she closed the door to show the mirror on the back of the door). Standing close together, I figured they would move somewhere where they were ten feet away or less at some point, and she could choose to strike whenever that happened. If not, she would have probably led off with Sleep instead of the trip flurry.

But yeah, I will readily admit that she had a big logistical advantage in that fight. Actually, I think if Ayame and Sasuke had to go up against Melody, Priya, Zykovian, Abdiel, Mhrazhar, Fedowin, Molpe, Alire, and Lyveria all at once the two Larakese would have been crushed.

The leads were actually correct, but I totally understand if Melody won't pursue the Crazan Arris past this--frankly, it was a hook to get the group together that could have possibly gone onto this and other sidequests, but it isn't the main adventure anyway (hence why we haven't started Chapter 1)--I would say BS/Molpe was quite clever to have the wherewithal to track the ninjas with Divinations based on the haiku 'Wei-Han' left her, but he did it by accident

This story is about the new crew of the Voidseeker, so don't worry if you don't go after a particular hook--I agree it would be well within Melody's character to give up on the Crazan Arris at this point, and I'm not invested one way or the other in which sidequests you choose to follow as long as everyone has fun. That said, I always am trying to improve, and I hope I didn't mishandle this in such a way as to hinder anyone's enjoyment (if I did, let me know so I can improve!).

I know. That's what I meant with when I said it was a little too late by the time I realized we were *inside* the room, since I must have missed the part about closing the door (or assumed it was immediately opened again, like before), as I was still thinking we were outside by that time. ;)

And about the assumption, which I stated above... Melody had asked for a darker blue (I was mostly planning to either let her show us the entire house, gathering more information on the way and looking for clues where Fedowin (or Alire) might be, or get her so annoyed, that she does some mistake there, since I absolutely suspected her to be with the people we are after - of course, you couldn't know this, since those were only my thoughts at this point, when Melody asked for a darker shade of blue :D), the next post she led us to the room, opened the door, we went inside, she closed the door. All in one go. When the post would have stopped at her opening the door, and we would have decided what to do then, Melody wouldn't have gone inside the room; at most she would have stayed *in* the door, so she cannot close it. :p

If not, she would have probably led off with Sleep instead of the trip flurry.

Yeah, it's not like this would have changed much (other than Galeru might have been able to escape).

But well, don't want to make you feel bad about this or anything... just offering my thoughts at this situation. Just move along. It's always a difficult line to tread on when you don't want to give us any more clues than we should rightfully have while trying to have things look as natural as they might normally.[/SBLOCK]

[SBLOCK=Thanee and Bront]Ahhh, I gotcha now. You didn't realise they were explicitly inside the room. My bad then--that was a clash of images because of my bad writing. I did mention earlier she showed off the inside of the door where it locked and a few other things inside, but that could have been too subtle, so I completely understand.

As for Galeru escaping--yeah, it could've worked that way, and she might have managed it also if Priya threw something at the window, but in the words of unleashed, who fell for a similar trick where Ayame posed as Alire: "Even if Galeru gets out, someone will probably just say 'how did you get down here, I'd better take you back to Priya,' and then head upstairs on their own."

It's always a difficult line to tread on when you don't want to give us any more clues than we should rightfully have while trying to have things look as natural as they might normally.

Yep, this is definitely the key issue, it's a tough call and I tried very hard to play fair here, so I'm glad you understand. If they hadn't wanted to go up with the barmaid to find a room and Ayame had been forced to play the Alire gambit, she would've been screwed because she would have called Priya and Galeru by name even though Alire has never met them--I mentioned that to unleashed too.

[sblock=Thanee & RA]Yeah, stuff like that is rough. I thought of throwing the staff, but I wasn't sure and she seemed more likely to want to hit it. Besides, she's not one for combat.

Priya's interested in the gem, but more for the magic stuff. I have another character who is REALY interested in that, but she's stuck in another adventure and will be trying to recruit people for it and the other Gem she's unsure of the whereabouts of (she knows where 1 of the 3 is).

[SBLOCK=Rystil and Bront and unleashed]Great, now we have disabled everyone who was actively posting... :p[/SBLOCK]
