Where are the cover previews?

In the June issue of Previews (a monthly catalog of products from Diamond Distributors, basically, where most comic and specialty shops get their comics and such.)

Issue one's cover is by Tim Seeley. Its 1 of 3, 48 pg, full color. The variant cardstock cover is by Gez Fry and is painted. I prefer the regular cover myself, out of the two.

They are also releasing The Dragonlance:Legend of Huma trade paperback in June as well.

I'm a little more sensitive when it comes WotC aquisitions. I worked at the Game Keeper when WotC bought it. Then Hasbro bought WotC. Then all the Game Keeper's closed. To this day, I'm convinced no one hates Pokemon more than I do. :]

An updated story about this can be found here including new preview art.

Beyond the novel adaptions, Devil's Due also wants to create original Eberron stories, original Forgotten Realms stories, and possibly even Ravenloft stories.

Sounds nifty but how about writing original material as opposed to just making comics adaptations of the novels? Granted, I'd LOVE to see the graphic novel version of FR's "Time of Troubles".... in all it's photoshopped colored glory.... (but that's just me..)

Maybe use the familiar characters in both the 3.0 line and the FR line. Maybe Dragonlance too. Don't come up with unfamiliar characters who we have no knowledge of unless they're part of a "supporting cast" to the main, well-known characters.

Any chance they may pick up the old storyline from the old DC Comics, or is that exclusively for DC Comics? The one with a gold elf, a Halruaa wizard, and golem with a personality, and paladin, and a Kara-Tur woman? Oh yeah, and a halfling.

That'll most likely stay with DC and DD start with something fresh. But then DC did the very same when they relaunched the Star Trek line back in the late 80s/early 90s. I preferred the first run which had more believable stories and showed that the Enterprise did have more than 7 crew! ;)

Hmm. The 'younger audience' abandoned comics for video games years ago. The most recent Diamond survey I'm aware of puts the average comics reader age at 34.

Heh. I QUIT getting comics BEFORE I hit 34. I bought a few back issues of GI JOE at one year's Dragoncon from a vendor there.... but the main collecting days are long past.

Now, this is the kind of thing that could drag a new and younger audience toward the gaming table, IMO. Thoughts?

Pretty sweet. I've got the first Legend of Huma comic book, it'd be nice to get the whole set in one book. From what I saw, it was pretty cool.

I know there's a lot of Drizzt fatigue around here, but I thought the dark elf trilogy was the best part of that series. I would really like to see how it's illustrated. I'll probably buy that too.

I do hope they'll start illustrating some original story lines. Eberron seems like a no-brainer, especially with those opening pieces of comic-book artwork for each chapter of the campaign setting.

Overall I think this could be quite cool.

I think original material will depend on how fans react to the stuff that first comes out. As others have mentioned, Kenzer had some original material and I don't think it did fantastic for 'em.
