Devil’S Due To Acquire Dungeons & Dragons Comics license

It hasn't really been mentioned here, but I want to nip it in the bud just in case it starts. There is absolutely NO TRUTH that the HackMaster license is in danger of being yanked/lost.

Apparently the news of the D&D Comic being picked up by another company sent the rumor mill into action again with some people saying we 'lost' the license or that it was yanked. Can HM be far behind....?

For the record, we did the D&D comic thing. We had fun with it. We paid out a LOT of money for artists/writers, full color publishing, and so on.

In the end, after looking over the sales and the amount of in-house manhours we'd been devoting to it we decided it just wasn't something we wanted to continue doing. So we decided not to continue with any more series after the fourth one. We didn't lose it. We can still do more comics - if we want to. :)

The issues did eventually sell out, though, so there's certainly the possibility of some trade paperback collections sometime in the future.

While I'm not a Drizzt fan, at least they'll be starting this thing off with a popular character. Like it or not, that could get at least some attention into this...

This isn't their first journey into D&D comics as they released Legend of Huma mini series last year...

To be honest I wish I could say that they did a good job but it would be a bold face lie, it was to be 18 issues, broken into 3 parts with 6 issue each, but they stop it after 5 issues... (They ran into production issues.)

Since then they do have a TPB coming out containing the full first part, all 6 issues, but they have no plan to release that single issue so those who bought the first 5 are really getting walked all over in this...

So all in all, I would be real leery of this if I was you'll... (Myself, the huge comic book fan I am, is going to skip this one with a ten-foot pool.)
