My thanks, Hal, that gertainly helped. If you get the chance, give' er a review. I haven't been able to find one for this product anywhere yet.
Roudi, as a publisher, I made a personal choice of not doing reviews of my fellow publisher's products, so you won't be seeing one from me. My apologies.

I did ask Louis if he was interested in my feedback (he was) and sent him an email with my thoughts on the product.

I can tell you that I liked it, and I look forward to the next release in the line, Henry V.

Only with Louis' permission would I go into further detail.

And I still say, "Damn that be beat me to it!" :)

Adamant overpriced? There's no question in my mind about that, the single class model is the one that drives me crazy the most.
Before you get too down on Adamant, you might want to consider the subscription plan they have. One payment of (if I recall correctly) 30-some dollars gives you everything coming out in a particular line for the next year. It's a little different approach than the compilation model, but it serves the same purpose.

Hey, has anyone else purchased d20 Shakespeare: Macbeth? Just because I can't do a review doesn't mean I wouldn't like to see reviews done by others! :)
I'm curious as to other people's reactions to this release/series.

I just finished the Layout on D20 Shakespeare: Henry V and I hope to have it up at RPGNow.com by Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest.

"Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more!"

Seriously. MacBeth is a great play, but not something I would consider integrating into my roleplaying game. Henry V, however... rock rock on. :)

He's aware of it.

He jumped into a thread where I was asking people what they wanted to see in the THRILLING TALES line to go off on his little crusade about price-per-page. When I tried to see his side of things, he bizarrely flamed me, saying that he didn't want me to try to do so.

Later, I announced the subscription deal in the same thread. He replied that it was likely to make him take a second look, but then decided to post twice to complain about the wording of the press release (which mentioned 7 products released in December, when at the time- the 13th- we had only released 3 or 4) and that the deal doesn't include the releases from December, since it starts in January.

I was feeling all Christmas-y, so I said "you're right", and amended the deal so that it included every December product as well, as a bonus. By any reasonable definition, I've made a pretty good effort to make consumers like jezter6 happy.

The only thing I've heard from him since is this thread, where Adamant is singled out for being "overpriced."

Nice.

In short, I'm pretty much convinced that jezter6 is a prime example of the Internet Critic--a sort that I've encountered before. He's got his pet cause, and he'll continue to fight his crusade, and nothing is ever going to make him happy---in fact, trying to make him happy removes his reason for complaining, and is only likely to make him more incensed.

There are just some times when you've got to write something off as a Lost Cause, and it appears to me, at least that consumers like jezter6 have "Don't Bother" stenciled in 120-point red letters on their foreheads.

The # of products released was a QUESTION to find out if those products were already released, or 'going to be released' or what.

Sadly I was really planning on spending my money on your subscription, and I had thought that since we had been over it in your thread and things seemed like they had ended, that I was going to give you a second chance as a publisher...

Sadly, you decided to come to another thread and bash me anyways. How bout you learn to take some criticism, and maybe a few customer service classes. You may be the 'customer service guru' at RPGNow, but you obviously have no idea how to run your own business.

I had an objection to your pricing and release schedule, and you had changed things to appeal to me as a customer, then slammed me here. Likely you don't care that you lost a sale...but hopefully other consumers see your POOR public relations skills and skip your products as well.

While I don't agree with Phil and Louis, at LEAST they had the dignity to respond in decent fashion without resorting to the petty crap you pulled.

Well done, Skarka.

Hey, Skarka...

Just for some reality here...
Jez said that stuff BEFORE the subscription deal...

I think he said that he changed his mind...
Might wanna check dates, man. :)

Sure you were. The #1 most common refrain of the Internet Critic: "I was GOING to, but..."

Bashing my company for being "overpriced" in another thread after we had already been "over it" is a strange way to indicate that you're giving us "a second chance."

I didn't bash you. I reported my experiences with you. Believe me--ask around--if I had bashed you, you'd know it.

Given that Adamant is responsible for products that have been in the top 10 best-sellers this month as well as last month, you'll forgive me if I don't agree with your business assessment, however valuable you might think it is.

My efforts to address your concerns (and others who discussed those concerns in a much more reasonable fashion) has been nothing short of bending over backwards. Your response has been to bizarrely attack any publisher who attempts to please you, and to continue to harp upon your little crusade.

I think that other consumers can clearly see what we're dealing with here.
