I can understand a publisher being upset over OGL violations or incorrect declarations, but the non-publishers around here who get their panties in a bunch over this seriously need to get a life. It's pathetic.

I'm not so sure I agree. I think if more customers complained about these issues then it would force publishers to do their job correctly.

I think of it as, if everyone picked up one piece of litter, the overall environment would be better for all.

Failing to site products correcting in your section 15 is a lack of recognition toward those who contributed to your product. Lack of recognition leads to disappointment and eventually publisher failing to see the value in opening material up.

Then we get book after book after book of different interpretations of the same material because collegiality has been lost and OGC declarations become more convuluted.

Or publicizing the Weapons of Starship Destruction 2 release by infringing on the name of Malhavoc Press.

Or using closed content zone rules from Mastering Iron Heroes, in Weapons of Starship Destruction 2?

Well if you had been in the e-mails between myself and Monte you would actually know of what you speak, but since you were not ... well I guess you can figure out what I am telling you. FACT = Fast, Accurate, Concise and True.

Does this mean the zone rules are now open? I bought a copy of the PDF in question and it doesn't say anything about the zone rules being closed.

I ask because I'm interested in the zone rules.

You can talk to Monte about it. When he first released them on his web site as a giveaway, I asked about using them, BEFORE they were in book form and labeled. Most people DON'T know that about that. They assume a lot of things and were QUITE incorrect. See, if you just asked you migh have known that too.

I have to agree with this.

I'd like to see more customers calling "foul"....publishers don't tend to listen to other publishers, but they do listen to customers.

Does this mean that the misuse of the Corsair Section 15 info in the PDF in question was also approved by the publisher?

I shall also agree. What's really nice is when I'm alerted to violations of my own material (or when I made a mistake and had to fix a PDF). And those that let me know when someone is selling illegal PDFs at eBay are always very much appreciated.

Thanks for the reply, Louis.

I didn't have that information. But as you pointed later in the thread. "See, if you just asked you migh have known that too", I did ask a question.

I guess it just shouldn't have been a binary question, that wasn't fair and my mistake.
