This is Rowan a in progress drawing. I will be showing this image in stages as he progresses (almost like characters do). He is d&d character I will be playing from level one. He is a Kilorian?(sp) from races of the wild. Kilorians in races of the wild bugged the hell out of me,… I really disliked the art, but then a read that they look like half elves, so that really got me excited. Rowan has the levels Monk2/fighter2/barb2/dervish x, he uses a glaive and has feats and such to threaten adjacent squares all the while taking advantage of karmatic strike. I may post the back-story and build later on when I am closer to being done.

I gave the character a pained expression because of karmatic strike, as he is always in pain from his many wounds created from life and the battles that entails.

Because dervish are dancers I figured he would have lots of bells about his body and because of this, drive the party mad.... no move silently for you.

Right now the drawing is partiality digitally inked with a layer of pencil. I created the glaive on a separate peace of paper then added it in Photoshop. I am unsure if I am going to keep the grainy paper effect or not at the moment. I probably wont know until the final touches.

if you can read my handwriteing you get 10 points.

I get 10 points. 'course I cheated - I teach history and have to read essays all of the time.

Those are some heavy duty boots! Her feet seem way bigger in proportion to her hands.

haha its a guy!!!!. yea yeah, call him a fairy, he is fey afterall. don’t worry, he is quite feminine with max ranks in perform dance. I didn’t erase the breasts under the shirt yet that may have also added to the confusion, how ever my females tend to look like this. Check out the hips

 still in progress in as well.

The drawling above still has the under drawling so i can get the anatomy right. In the underdrawling i try to draw as much of the anotmy as I can. the feet cut off on the paper so i had to add them in later. that may be why the boots are too big. I may change the boot size, but i kindof like it. However I think their are some bone directions in the foot that need resetting. Maybe they are boots of greater ass kicking :heh:

here is his anatomy so its clearer. also may give insight into the magic of photoshop layers

Now, not to put you on the spot but may I ask why you thought it was a she? (so i can gain more knowledge in the physiology of art), if it was a typo I apologize for my humor full rant.
my guess it was the face, if so then im definitely hitting fey facial features and i am on the right rack.

Subtle and intoxicating differences between female elves and humans. pfff phb elves annoy me. Best one drawn is the one holding his wallet from pilfering Halflings in races of the wild. Oh, almost forgot the one that’s grabbing a huge artifact. Forget what book but he is upside-down. Is it complete adventurer? Anyway. Those are my fav elves I have seen in books so far. Normally I think the elves in d&d have fugaly proportions with not so esthetic eyes. It’s all in the eyes. Forget the ears. It’s all about the eyes.

I just like to greet the artist and let them know if I put any of their stuff in the "Best of EN World Art Show" thread. ^_^ I really love your sketches.
